Grant Lucas is the senior managing editor for PlayAZ. A longtime sports writer, he has covered the high school, collegiate and professional levels and sports ranging from basketball, baseball and golf to the Olympic Trials, race walking and foosball.

With PlayAZ, Lucas oversees the legal gambling landscape in Arizona, which includes the state’s expansion into regulated sports betting, daily fantasy sports and added casino games. While also helping PlayAZ provide the latest news and updates as they relate to the Grand Canyon State, Lucas also looks for the unique stories that might otherwise go untold.

Prior to covering the rapid expansion of legal gambling in Arizona and across the country, Lucas served as a sports writer with The Bulletin newspaper in Bend, Oregon. There, he followed the high school sports scene as well as writing features and columns on golf. In addition, Lucas, a graduate of Linfield College, crafted feature stories and coverage of college sports, such as Oregon State baseball advancing to the College World Series, while also following the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA.

An award-winning writer, Lucas has now narrowed his focus on Arizona as a new world of regulated gaming dawns in the desert.
